User Research
I interviewed business owners who regularly use coupons, either as part of their customer engagement strategy or for internal company perks. A common theme was the desire for simplicity, not just in design, but also in the process of sending and tracking. Users wanted something fast, intuitive, and elegant.
Competitor Analysis
I reviewed several existing solutions, including default WooCommerce coupons, third party plugins, and independent coupon websites. Most lacked modern design, offered no way to send directly through the platform, and didn't include any sort of tracking or personalization. The interfaces were often outdated, cluttered, and confusing.
Design Inspiration
I drew visual and UX inspiration from platforms like Venngage, which provide accessible design tools while maintaining a professional look and feel. I wanted to create an interface that empowers users, even those with no design background, to feel in control, enjoy the process, and produce results they’re proud of.
Usability Testing
I tested the early version of the product with a variety of small business owners across industries, including eCommerce, hospitality, and marketing. Through testing, I identified pain points such as unclear button labeling, unnecessary steps, and lack of confirmation messages. I refined the flow based on their feedback to ensure clarity, speed, and ease of use.
